There may be some hope that the WWE Elite 84 Zelina Vega figure will see a retail release.
Mattel WWE marketing manager Steve Ozer recently took part in an Instagram Live Q&A with Blainer Things, and said the toy maker is trying to save the WWE Elite Collectors’ Edition figure of Vega.
“If we can save that figure, we will,” Ozer said.
Vega’s figure is in limbo following her release from the WWE.
Ozer also shared a few newsy bites during the conversation. here are a few highlights:
Mr. America is not possible at this time. So don’t expect the masked version of the Hulkster from his waning days as a wrestler in WWE.
The 2021 Royal Rumble Elite figure wave is expected to hit Target stores in January. The wave includes Stone Cold Steve Austin, Titus O’Neil, Umaga and the Ultimate Warrior, who comes with the yellow strap Intercontinental Championship. Ozer showed off the figure MOC in the video.
The Royal Rumble Elite Austin figure’s vest will not say “Alcohol Fueled” on the back. For obvious reasons.
Stone Cold Steve Austin Mattel figures also won’t be giving the middle finger. For obvious reasons.
WWE Legends Series 9 is also expected to reach Target shelves in early 2021. The series features Tatanka, the Undertaker, Nikolai Volkoff and the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase (with chase variant).
Could the Gobbledy Gooker be possible? The return of the Gobbledy Gooker at the 2020 Survivor Series may have given hope to the figure finally coming to fruition. “Something happened last night and I want to take that opportunity and make it happen,” Ozer said.
Hollywood Hogan’s weight belt won’t be fixed prior to the release of the Ultimate Edition figure. In fact, pre-orders from Ringside Collectibles this week.
A WrestleMania 3 2-pack of Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan isn’t likely. However, Ozer teased that he’d like to save the Elite 2-pack for something “Mega.” Of course, that’s a tease for the Mega Powers. Mattel already released Miss Elizabeth from the Mega Powers era in Elite 77.
More Eddie Guerrero and Chyna figures are coming. However, Sable and Demolition aren’t possible at the moment.
Vehicles have sold well. That means more will likely make their way into the lineup. Of course, Ozer didn’t offer any hints, other than he’d personally like to see a Lex Express.
