The first wave of the Walmart exclusive WWE Decade of Domination figures were scheduled to ship by the end of this week. However, Walmart issued emails today saying the pre-order shipments have been delayed until September 30.
Pre-orders for the first wave of five figures — John Cena, Randy Orton, The Undertaker, Natalya and Mark Henry — first went up on April 2. Cena is the only figure in the first wave that hasn’t sold out.
Decade of Domination Wave 2 — featuring Triple H, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Big Show and Beth Phoenix — are slated to ship on December 1. Pre-orders for Triple H and Kofi Kingston remain available.
Mattel WWE marketing manager Steve Ozer conducted an unboxing of the first wave over the weekend, leading to hope that pre-orders would soon be shipping. But that’s not the case.
Walmart isn’t the only major retailer to struggle with executing pre-orders.
WWE Legends Series 7 — featuring Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Razor Ramon and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan — began showing up in brick-and-mortar Target stores before pre-orders began shipping.
Once those orders started shipping, some were incomplete. In other cases, pre-orders for Greg Valentine have either been canceled or pushed back multiple times, with the latest estimated arrival on August 31.
