The AEW Unrivaled line is beginning to slowly show up at Walmart stores. Jazwares partner Jeremy Padawer shared on social media that “from all indicators there will be significant resetting tonight and Wednesday” at the world’s largest brick-and-mortar retailer.
Padawer had promised additional information after the first wave of AEW figures weren’t widely available at Walmart stores as expected on August 3.
Padawer’s tweets indicate collectors should do a full sweep of the toy section to ensure they don’t miss the figures on end caps.
Some collectors have had luck. Texas is the one state the figures have apparently been showing up in. This find follows one in Irving, Texas, Monday evening.
Earlier in the day, AEW acknowledged the issues with the figure launch and pointed to “the daunting logistics” of getting consumer products to shelves during a global pandemic. The company added that Walmart has stocked the toy replica championship belts and smaller wrestling rings, but the figures should begin showing-up “throughout the week.”
On Monday, even some of the biggest wrestling figure YouTubers came up empty on their hunts, including My Damn Toys and Wrestling Hero Figz.
As for Padawer, he will be featured on the AEW Unrestricted Podcast with Tony Schiavone and Aubrey Edwards, which publishes on Thursdays. Padawer solicited questions for the interview, and answered one on the minds’ of Canadian collectors: AEW Unrivaled figures should be showing up in Walmart stores in October and Toys R Us stores in November.
Finally, maybe Darby Allin was frustrated he couldn’t find the figures in Walmart. Keep hunting and let us know if/when you score.
