AEW owner Tony Khan acknowledged changes could be coming with the company’s action figure license.
Following last week’s news that Jazwares had laid off its AEW team – and rumors say the cuts went deeper than just the AEW team – Khan was asked today about the future of the figure license by the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.
“I do think it’s possible there could be a change and that could potentially be a positive change for AEW and the fans,” Khan said during today’s Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor media call.
Khan added that he couldn’t comment further.
Jazwares has held the AEW license since 2020.
Over the weekend, Jazwares president Jeremy Padawer posted and then deleted a message thanking AEW and talking about “next chapters,” a move that appeared to confirm the pending split.

Rumors have swirled about potential successor licensors. YouTuber and wrestling figure collector Kyle Peterson has said he’s heard Super 7 was the front runner following New York Toy Fair. Others have speculated about Boss Fight Studio, McFarlane and Jada, among others.
Nothing has been confirmed thus far.
AEW PR did not return a request for comment. Neither did Jazwares.
Brian Myers on the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast this week said “several more things are coming,” including “things the public don’t know about.”
Things we do know are on the way including:
- Darby Allin with a flamethrower;
- And Hiroshi Tanahashi Ringside Collectibles exclusive (which is still up for pre-order).
Beyond those, several renders were revealed during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, including a Ringside exclusive Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana 2-pack. It’s unclear if that’s still on the way.
