PowerTown Action Figures Delayed Due to Design Flaw

The wait for the first wave of PowerTown action figures will be a little bit longer.

Due to a design flaw in the action figures that caused legs to snap off, the company will remanufacture the first series, which will delay their release until around April 2023, PowerTown managing partner Steve Rosenthal wrote in an email this week. (Read the full letter below.)

“We know that our customers have high expectations for our figures and we share those same high expectations,” Rosenthal wrote. “For that reason, the decision has been made to re-manufacture Series 1/Wave 1, which includes Bruiser Brody, Verne Gange, and Stan Hansen. By making some specific adjustments we can deliver on our promise of authenticity while positively impacting the playability/poseability of our figures. What this means is our figures will safely be able to do all of the things we designed them to do.”

Major Wrestling Figure Podcast hosts Matt Cardona, Brian Myers and Mark Sterling discovered the design flaw. They interviewed Rosenthal about the issue this week, who said even though the first three figures had shipped, they’d be remade.

“Over the last 10 days, we’ve discovered that our Series1/Wave 1 figures are not responding well to a specific articulation, allowing the legs to separate from the hip.

“While our Wave 1 figures and their respective packages are receiving incredible reviews on their visual aesthetics, we cannot overlook this limitation.

“We know that our customers have high expectations for our figures and we share those same high expectations. For that reason, the decision has been made to re-manufacture Series 1/Wave 1, which includes Bruiser Brody, Verne Gange, and Stan Hansen. By making some specific adjustments we can deliver on our promise of authenticity while positively impacting the playability/poseability of our figures. What this means is our figures will safely be able to do all of the things we designed them to do.

“With a decision of this magnitude, it will impact our timeline for delivering pre-orders to our customers. While we have an ample amount of goods already in transit, we will not be fulfilling orders with this product, as we will not compromise the quality and consistency of our figures. Instead, once we have completely remanufactured Series 1, Wave 1, they will be transported with Wave 2 and delivered to customers once they arrive in our warehouse. At this time, we anticipate an adjusted delivery date closer to April, 2023.

“We will continue to listen and welcome input from our supporters. This is only the beginning, so rest assured that we will continue to improve and evolve. If you have specific questions about your order, please contact support@powertownwrestling.com. Thank you! Steve”
