The window to buy into Mattel’s crowd-funded WWE Ultimate New Generation Arena has closed, and the campaign ends a resounding success with all tiers unlocked.
According to the Mattel Creations site, the crowd-fund appears to have ended with 8,505 orders for the $250 package, which includes Ultimate Edition figures of Diesel and Doink, a newly scaled and retooled wrestling ring, and the light-up neon entrance way.
For those who ordered by August 13, they’ll receive an Ultimate Edition WrestleMania X “Macho Man” Randy Savage action figure and announcers’ playset, as part of an early bird bonus. That set, including the Macho Man, are estimated at around 8,011 units sold, so about 493 fewer than Doink and Diesel.
Although the campaign seemed to stall after an initial push, the addition of the Macho Man injected the project with the juice to unlock all tiers (7,000 for Doink and 8,000 for extra ring skirts). The project will now go into production with an expected ship date of summer 2022.
The next WWE crowd-funded campaign is expected to take place in 2022. For more details on the strategy around the next project, this project and more, watch WrestlingFigureNews.com’s interview with Mattel WWE marketing manager Steve Ozer below.
