WWE New Generation Arena 75% Funded; Halfway to Unlocking Ultimate Edition Doink

The Mattel WWE New Generation Arena is going to happen. That’s not just me being optimistic. The project has surged over the last 24 hours and is now 75% funded with nine days to go.

At the current pace, I won’t be surprised if the project is fully funded by the end of today. Why? Because today is the deadline for the early bird add on pack that gets collectors an Ultimate Edition “Macho Man” Randy Savage action figure and a classic announcers’ table playset in addition to the core offerings of an Ultimate Edition Diesel figure, a newly scaled wrestling ring and the gem of the project, the neon entrance way.

The deadline to get the early bird add ons — Macho Man and the announcers’ table — is today (Friday, August 12) at 9 p.m. PST. Click here to back the project.

I’ll take it a step further, unlocking the Ultimate Edition Doink is looking like a real possibility. The campaign is a little more than halfway to the 7,000 units sold to unlock WWE’s demented clown. Mattel WWE marketing manager Steve Ozer mentioned last night that Doink comes with removable and interchangeable hair pieces in addition to three different head sculpts.

So here’s a quick recap: At its most basic level, Mattel is asking collectors to plunk down $250 for the neon entrance way, a retooled scale wrestling ring, and Ultimate Edition Diesel. For those who order by 9 p.m. PST tonight, you get the Macho Man and the announcers’ playset in addition to the core package.

Should the 5,000 threshold be met, then the goal is to unlock Ultimate Doink at 7,000 units sold. If Doink is unlocked, then the goal is to unlock additional ring skirts (WrestleMania and In Your House) at 8,000 units sold by the August 22 deadline for the entire project.

As of this writing, the project has 3,761 of the minimum 5,000 commitments needed to make the most basic level of the project a reality. Once it hits 5,000, then the project will go into production, with a summer 2022 expected shipping date.

Ozer showed off a prototype of the neon entrance way last night while conducting an Instagram live streamed Q&A. Watch it below.
