Image of the next Mattel WWE Top Picks series were revealed today by Ringside Collectibles. The set features mostly repaints — and in some cases, straight up re-releases — of WWE top stars The Fiend, Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston.
The set also features new Mattel WWE packaging, which includes a “Certified Authentic” seal with a WWE hologram sticker. Why is there all of a sudden a giant seal on the packaging? Likely to differentiate Mattel’s WWE action figures from Jazwares’ AEW Unrivaled line. The wrestling toy war has begun.
The standout figure in the set is Kingston in his Royal Rumble 2020 ring attire (h/t dfreedom30) and bleached blonde hair.
Otherwise, the Fiend (Elite 77), McIntyre (Elite 71) and Reigns (Elite 79) figures appear to be straight up re-runs.
The verdict on this set — outside of Kingston — is a hard pass unless you missed any of these previous releases. The set is slated to ship in mid-September and retails for $109.99 from Ringside.
