Sam Roberts interviewed Zombie Sailor Toys’ Josh Sailor on his upcoming modern scale action figure line, as well as the latest on his Heels and Faces retro figures.
The first wave of modern-scale figures – Jeff Jarrett, Brian Pillman, King Kong Bundy and Abdullah the Butcher – are slated to go up for pre-order at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 27.
Watch the full interview above.
Here are some takeaways:
- Abby’s pants are soft goods;
- Abby will have a bloody head and a fork hand;
- Zombie views the line as the love child of Hot Toys and NECA, just shrunken down to scale with Mattel Elite and Ultimate figures;
- The figures are expected to be in collectors’ hands by the holidays;
- The price is going to surprise collectors “in a good way” and “unbelievable value” for the price point;
- Zombie is still sorting out which hands will come with the figures;
- Zombie licensed Pillman’s sunglasses from the company that made them;
- The modern-scale line will have its own name;
- The modern-scale line has been in development for three years, and Sailor has invested half a million dollars in the line;
- “We have a lot of these getting picked up by retail stores,” Sailor said.
- Packaging will be similar to a NECA clam shell.

I still want to know, will Bundy’s upper legs be able to move? Very concerned based on how it looks currently.
