PowerTown Pre-Orders Delayed Until 2025

After three months with no updates, PowerTown has given a status update on a handful of pre-orders that are all expected to release in 2025.

Here’s a look at what’s going on and what PowerTown is saying.

The Matt Cardona and Brian Myers 2-pack is now scheduled for January 2025. These were previously expected in September.

The Remco All-Star Wrestlers revival is expected to also arrive in January 2025.

The TNA Ultras set is expected in either March or April 2025. These were expected to arrive in August, with the company saying Series 2 would release in December.

And Ultras Series 2 is expected in March or April 2025.

PowerTown has been dodgy at giving expected fulfillment dates for sets in the past, as well as making good on those dates. So view these dates as potentially fluid.

As part of today’s mea culpa, PowerTown sent those who have pre-orderded individual figures or sets an email saying “we owe ya’ one and much more than just an apology for the late delivery of your pre-order(s).”

“Your commitment to PowerTown product has not gone unnoticed…we sincerely recognize your frustrations re the delay(s) delivering your orders,” the company said. “While we understand any skepticism…be assured that all product ordered from PowerTown will be delivered.

“No excuse is an acceptable excuse. Yes…we are experiencing growing pains…as each new pre-order continues to wildly exceed our expectations and therefore dramatically effect delivery dates.

“With 5 pre-orders under our belt and as we approach the release of what we anticipate being our biggest pre-order yet…with what we believe will be the most dynamic group of talent to ever be offered via pre-order…online sales or retail…we are stepping up ”to ease the pain”.

“We feel our loyal customers deserve something special for the delay of their orders. So…along with updated delivery dates on past pre-orders…we are implementing the PowerTown “We Owe Ya’ 1 program:

“For the next 30 days, customers with open pre-orders on Cardona-Myers, Remco, TNA, or ULTRAS Series 2 will have the opportunity to order a FREE FIGURE of their choice from ULTRAS Series 1. Those who purchased full bundles of Remco, TNA, or ULTRAS Series 2 will be able to select 2 FREE FIGURES. As an added bonus, these figures will be shipped FREE OF CHARGE with no handling fees. PowerTown will absorb ALL costs associated with this promotion and will start shipping immediately from our fulfillment center.”

There’s a lot to unpack here. The company is offering free figures of Series 1 figures – the remaining ones are Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen, Verne Gagne and the Diamond Collection Kerry Von Erich – to those who have either ordered individual figures or full sets. So you can get up to two figures for free but supplies appear to be limited. So check those emails and get on it it fast.

PowerTown is also teasing its “biggest pre-order yet with what we believe will be the most dynamic group of talent to ever be offered via pre-order.” Could this be the Horsemen? Hard to know for sure. But it’s understandable that consumers are frustrated with over promising versus under delivering.

That frustration boiled over when news broke on Gamespot that PowerTown is partnering with MLW on a line of Galoob figures for 2025. I won’t pretend to understand how MLW is the right fit for a line whose roots with WCW in 1990 has little nostalgia. WCW Galoob lasted one year in the U.S. with Series 2 being UK exclusive.

It’s also fair to wonder if PowerTown has bit off more than it can handle for such a young company. Hopefully this is the start of more transparency going forward.

  1. This is why I passed on the Ultra Series 2. It took close to 2 years to get the Series 1 figure I bought and it was always excuse after excuse on the delays. I still remember the whole ‘we got all the figures in the warehouse and ready to ship but the arms and legs are breaking off so we have to make all new figures’. Bullshit.

It was blatantly obvious when they were initially selling just 6 figures that they were in way over their heads. Now they have something like 3 or 4 separate lines to produce, with more in the works?! GTFOH
