Mattel is rebranding its WWE Basic Series line as the Main Event Series. Mattel WWE global brand marketing manager Steve Ozer announced the repositioning today on his social channels.
“WWE Basics have been anything but Basic since their articulation upgrade so we thought it was time for a more fitting name,” he wrote. “These Main Event level figures are now the WWE Main Event Series!”
The Main Event line will begin with Series 147, featuring Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase (Money Inc), Katana Chance and Brock Lesnar. The series hits stores this summer.
Additionally, Championship Showdown will be rechristened Maine Event Showdown, according to Wrestling Shop UK, which shared the above graphic.
