The Fixup: WWE Legends Greg ‘The Hammer’ Valentine

Welcome to The Fixup, where I swap figure parts to hopefully upgrade the figures in my collection

This edition of The Fixup features: The Legends 7 and 20 Greg “The Hammer” Valentine figure.

The Goal: Make a classic black trunks blond Hammer with the upgraded legs and double-jointed arms.

Parts You’ll Need: This will require the Legends 7 Valentine head and boots (plus, accessories), and the Legends 20 Valentine body. Plus, some decals from Curb Stomp City Decals.

Issue: Unfortunately, the Legends 7 Valentine is on pine-cone joints instead of ball joints, so you can’t just do an easy boil-and-pop leg swap. If you’re bugged by the wrong logos appearing on your figures, you’ll have to use clear nail polish or Goof Off to remove the Rhythm & Blues logo on the back of the trunks and apply the Curb Stomp decals.

This is a pretty easy fix overall, requiring heating up the head and boots, and swapping them onto the newer model body.

Be careful not to burn yourself, either with hot water or a hair dryer.

The new legs are definitely an upgrade. I definitely dig the way this one looks, although I wish I had a classic cursive “Greg” logo to go on the side.

If you want to do this swap, I’d suggest waiting until Legends 20 goes on clearance, which is a lock to happen (they all do). Stores in my area are packed with Valentines and green suit Million Dollar Man figures so this i inevitable.

With the Coliseum Collection, I’d say an Ultimate Hammer is a possibility although he’d definitely need to be paired with an anchor talent. Until then, this is one way to upgrade your original figure.
