WWE Basic Series figures will be evolving. Mattel WWE Global Brand Manager Steve Ozer shared the above image to his Instagram account showing the changes that will be coming to the line.
The figures will feature swappable heads and hands, True FX facial details, 14 points of articulation, and more poseability with new ball socket leg joints. The latter reveal is a huge advancement for these figures.
Will Basics retain their $10 price point? That’s yet to be answered. But these moves are a welcome evolution to a line that has needed a change after scaling back a few years ago. At the outset of Mattel’s WWE partnership, many Basics were beautiful figures.

This is great news and huge step in the right direction for the Basic line. A lot of times Mattel does really unique attires of wrestlers only for their basic figures, and we end up never getting that particular design in any elites or UEs versions of those people. Now with the new leg articulation, Basics are at least pretty close to Elites in posibility, though I think reverting the previous shoulder and bicep joint change would go a long way in making Basics even more appealing to hardcore collectors
