Ringside Collectibles quietly released loose and carded images of AEW Unrivaled 8 late last week. Rather than the typical Jeremy Padawer Jazwares image drop, the photos rolled out Friday night with little fanfare.
As a refresher, Unrivaled 8 features the first AEW figures of Kris Statlander, Trent and Chuck Taylor, as well as updated versions of Orange Cassidy, Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho, as the face-painted “Painmaker.” Moxley and Jericho are also the chase (1-of-5,000) and rare (1-of-3,000) figures, respectively.
The first Ringside Collectibles pre-orders of that set are slated to ship later this month — the full set is on backorder No. 1 right now with a mid-February ship date, although certain individual figures can still be had a little earlier.

Overall, this is a solid set, albeit with a few disappointments, most notably making short-shorts Jon Moxley a chase figure. His regular series figure looks like a hard pass. Meanwhile, Cassidy appears to be almost identical to his Unrivaled 3 figure.
Nevertheless, there are a lot of good things in this set, with Kris Statlander topping the list. Making Painmaker Jericho a regular release was also the right thing to do, but it also makes his regular release underwhelming in comparison (and aren’t rare figures supposed to be special?). Still, his spiked coat looks awesome.
Finally, the Best Friends figures look good, although a bit dated now with Trent’s new look.
Overall, I’m psyched to get this set in-hand to see how they look in-person, but not all of them will be keepers.
