Jazwares will be releasing a tweaked version of AEW Unrivaled wave one figures with slight changes to the skin tone and packaging.
One of the criticisms of the first series of figures — featuring Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes, the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and Brandi Rhodes — was that the skin tone was too pale, something Jazwares’ AEW team readily acknowledged.
Jazwares partner Jeremy Padawer noted the change in a tweet thread Tuesday evening, while explaining why wave one wouldn’t be showing up in Australia and New Zealand just yet.
In the thread, Padawer said another run of wave one with the updated skin tone would be manufactured after wave two and be made available online in the U.S. from the company’s launch partners (Ringside Collectibles and Walmart). The wave will also be made available at retail in Australia and New Zealand.
To denote the change, the packaging will also be slightly altered to make sure consumers know this is a variant of wave one.
Padawer concluded the thread noting that Jazwares will work with a second factory to cut down on “future bottlenecks” and meet demand.
Also of note: wave one and wave two share some parts, but wave two features largely new tooling.
