On the 5-year anniversary of Sammy Guevara getting run over by a golf cart driven by Matt Hardy and Kenny Omega, Jazwares shared the above image teasing a 3-pack to commemorate the moment.
Jazwares previously revealed plans for the pack during San Diego Comic-Con last year. The “AEW Archives” pack was listed for a fall 2024 release, which didn’t come to fruition.
No word on if or when this will see a release, but the render drop indicates this isn’t dead.
Is it enough to still grab collectors’ interest five years later? Eh, I’m afraid it’s going to be a tough sell for several reasons.
Guevara had been off main AEW programming until last weekend’s Collision and picked up a win, so at least he’s re-entering the consciousness . Hardy has been gone from AEW since last July; this figure appears to come with a soft goods robe. And Omega is still an anchor talent, giving the pack star power. Plus, this is the first non-bloody version of that head.
With the golf cart being cardboard and not plastic, it’s a much harder sell for collectors. Given this is Jazwares, I expect the packaging to be fantastic.
